About us
🌿 OUR MISSION
To cultivate confidence, connection, and lifelong mental wellness through trauma-informed, integrative care that supports individuals from early childhood through adulthood.
At PLAE, we offer a collaborative, whole-person model of care that honors the connection between mind, body, relationships, and environment. Through evidence-based therapies, psychological and developmental assessments, occupational and psychiatric services, and expressive, mind-body and wellness practices, we support all elements of mental health and wellbeing.
Grounded in connection and the transformative power of play, we create space for children, teens, adults, and families to feel supported, capable, and empowered—with the tools, insight, and regulation needed to thrive.
🌿 OUR VISION
To redefine mental health care by creating a safe, inclusive, and elevated therapeutic environment where individuals and families across the lifespan feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.
We envision a thoughtfully designed, regulating space where care is integrative, collaborative, and responsive—supporting the full continuum of mental health and wellness. A place where children, teens, adults, and families can reconnect with themselves and each other within a community rooted in compassion, connection, and whole-person care.
As we continue to grow, we are committed to expanding access to innovative, integrative services that support emotional wellbeing, nervous system regulation, developmental growth, and relational health. Our intention is to equip individuals and families with the tools, support, and understanding needed to live with confidence, purpose, connection, and resilience in an ever-evolving world.
🌿 OUR VALUES
At PLAE, we are guided by the Three I’s:
Impassioned
We lead with heart and purpose. Our deep commitment to individuals and families across the lifespan fuels everything we do, grounded in the belief that every person deserves to feel supported, connected, and capable of meaningful growth and wellbeing.
Innovative
We blend science, creativity, and integrative care. Through evidence-based therapeutic approaches, psychological assessment, occupational and psychiatric services, and expressive, mind-body wellness practices, we provide collaborative care that supports the many dimensions of mental health with intention, depth, and excellence.
Inclusive
We create spaces of true belonging. We honor the diverse identities, developmental needs, and lived experiences of every individual—offering trauma-informed, affirming care where children, teens, adults, and families can play, move, heal, learn, and grow within a safe, connected, and supportive environment.
"When I think of PLAE, I envision a space that feels both deeply supportive and alive—a place where children, individuals, and families can come as they are and feel genuinely seen, understood, and met.
I think of a community where care is collaborative, integrative, and grounded in honoring the whole person—where mental health support extends beyond therapy to include connection, regulation, and meaningful, accessible tools that support everyday life.
At the heart of PLAE is a deep commitment to helping individuals and families feel capable, supported, and connected. Through therapy, assessment, occupational and psychiatric care, and holistic, mind-body services, our intention is to create an environment where people feel empowered to navigate life with greater ease—and where children and families are supported in building a strong foundation for lasting wellbeing.
It is, at its core, a space where growth feels possible, support feels consistent, and no one has to navigate their experience alone."

Let’s begin with a simple question.
True or False: Play is the language of youth.
The answer? True.
Play is one of the first ways we learn—how we connect, express, explore, and make sense of the world. It supports creativity, relationship-building, and the development of a strong sense of self.
And while play begins in childhood, the need for connection, expression, and meaningful engagement continues across the lifespan.
This understanding is what inspired Melanie D. Davis, LCMHC, to create PLAE—a space originally rooted in play, and now expanded into a comprehensive, integrative mental health practice serving children, individuals, and families.
PLAE—pronounced “play”— is grounded in play-centered learning, attachment, and expressive therapies, while continuing to evolve into a collaborative, whole-person model of care.
Today, PLAE supports individuals from early childhood through adulthood through a range of services including therapy, psychological and developmental assessment, occupational therapy, psychiatric care, and integrative wellness practices.
From the moment you enter, the space reflects this intention—thoughtfully designed to be warm, regulating, and supportive. Every detail, from the environment to the materials used, is chosen to create an experience where individuals of all ages feel seen, supported, and empowered to explore, grow, and reconnect.
So, what does this mean?
It means expanding access to mental health care that honors the whole person—mind, body, relationships, and environment.
It means offering support not only to children, but also to teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, mood-related challenges, developmental needs, life transitions, or the impact of trauma.
It means providing integrative, collaborative care that includes therapy, assessment, occupational and psychiatric support, and holistic practices—meeting people where they are, with care that is both clinically grounded and deeply human.
It means creating space for both deep work and meaningful connection—in ways that feel safe, engaging, and accessible.
True or False: PLAE supports individuals and families in developing the tools to thrive—within themselves, their relationships, and their everyday lives.
The answer? True.
And it’s all offered within an environment that honors connection, encourages exploration, and supports growth—through play, through relationship, and through care that evolves with you.
